The first movie which Uttam and Soumitra did together. This 1961 film directed by Tapan Sinha, is a landmark in Bengali historical film. Uttam Kumar plays the enchanting double role as the abducted king’s doppelganger and Soumitro is unforgettable in his portrayal as the cruel villain Mayurbahan.
Released in 1969 and directed by Salil Dutta, this movie was based on the remarkable Russian novel ‘The Idiot’ by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. Apart from the legends Uttam and Soumitra, it had an outstanding cast of Aparna Sen, Sandhya Roy and Utpal Dutt.
Another one by director Salil Dutta, Uttam Kumar is the spectacular as the zamindar Madhab Dutta who is wasting his time away and Soumitro stands brilliant as Sitapati in his contrast.

Released in 1973, this movie showed the life of a struggling actor and then his tragic life as a stuntman. With Uttam and Soumitro, we get to see Pinaki Sengupta, Kalyani Mondal and Jahar Roy. Uttam Kumar has played a guest role here.
Jadi Jantem is a 1974 crime suspense film. Uttam Kumar is a lawyer and Soumitro the accused.
This 1979 release of Devdas is one of the best. Soumitra Chatterjee plays Devdas with the brilliant casting of Uttam Kumar, Santu Mukhopadhyay, Sumitra Mukherjee and Supriya Choudhury.
Directed by Piyush Bose in 1980, this is the story of the rivalry in business and how deep in the mud one goes. Along with Soumitro and Uttam you also get to watch another legend, Utpal Dutt.
Directed by Dilip Ray and music by Kalipada Sen, this is a 1980 released family drama film. With Soumitra and Uttam, the other actors are Sandhya Roy, Dipankar Dey, Bhanu Bandyopadhyay and Tarun Kumar.
This was the last film that Uttam and Soumitro did together in 1981. The story portrays around a young man falsely implicated by his uncle and how he returns in disguise to make things even. Apart from the legendary duo, the bonus are songs by Kishore Kumar and Manna Dey.
